foiled again, said she: As I neared her in wonder, she beckoned with a peaceful, maternal calm that implied come closer, climb aboard. She dropped down some tendrils to make the choice more inviting. I was mesmerized, awestruck and completely focused on shooting her during this sudden pause in the rain. I was also oblivious to the disquieting and conflicted chorus echoing from within the blackness. Before I reached arm’s distance, the rain began once again, cutting my shoot short. I collected all of my camera gear and swiftly moved across the field toward the dot that was my car.
